Programming Tracks
Athletes often ask, "What programming track should I follow on SugarWOD?" and this lesson will identify the multiple programming tracks WODprep Masters offers and which one you should be following to ensure your best results.
WODprep Lite ▶
WODprep Lite is a condensed version of our WODprep Masters track for those short on time, lacking access to equipment or looking programming similar to an hour long CrossFit class. Athletes following the WODprep Masters track can actively sub in WODprep Lite days depending on available time or other limitations (ie. work, vacations, recovery...).
- Prerequisites: None
- Equipment: Ideally, at least a single dumbbell, a jump rope, PVC pipe,yoga mat (optional),
- Time: 30-60 minutes | Aim to follow 3-6 days a week
- Limited time?: Focus on the conditioning piece only
Masters Programming ▶
The programming track 85% of our membership follows and in most cases so should you. Goal of the programming is to prepare you for the CrossFit Open with your best finish while presenting opportunities to improve your gymnastic skills.
- Prerequisites: None
- Equipment: Anything you’d find in a standard CrossFit gym
- Modifications: Refer to the WODprep Scaling Pyramids.
- Time: 60-90 minutes | 5 days a week
- Limited time?: Cherry pick the parts of the workout you have time for and that present the most challenge.
Elite Programming ▶
For high performance athletes aiming to qualify for the Masters Qualifiers and beyond. Typically, if you need to modify any of the workouts, you’re in the wrong track. You will be much better served in the WODprep Masters programming.
- Prerequisites: Top 10% of your CrossFit Open age group with the goal of competing in age group qualifiers.
- Equipment: Anything you’d find in a standard CrossFit gym
- Time: 90-120 minutes | 6 days a week
- Limited time?: Most athletes in this level should have the time commitment to finish the programming. In those rare cases you don’t, skip the parts that are not as challenging
1-on-1 Coaching ▶
Looking for personalized coaching and more dialogue between you and your coach. Ideal for any athlete looking to improve quickly, has an injury or limitations that requires high touch programming or for those athletes looking to take their training to the next level. Find out if 1-on-1 Coaching is right for you.
- Prerequisites: None
- Equipment: Coach will program workouts based on what you have access to.
- Time: Programmed to your availability and schedule
- Limited time?: Communicate with your Coach and they will modify your workout/ weekly schedule to suit.
