Lesson 5: Hand Hacks
One of the most overlooked parts of kipping pull-ups is hand care!
When it comes to gripping the bar for kipping pull-ups, careful you're not holding too high on the bar or using a high suicide grip with your thumbs over the bar. That kind of grip tends to put the middle of the palm in contact with the bar which is recipe for ripping.
Instead, grip the bar along the top of your palm with your thumb wrapped around the bar. That will give you an optimal grip for any kind of kipping movement.
Other hand care tips include shaving your calluses regularly with a callus remover. Typically, you'll want to do this once a week or once every couple of weeks on the night before your rest day (so your hands have a chance to heal the next day).
Aim to do your hand care routine after a shower or bath to make removing them easier.
